Sukadeb Jena is one of EPIC's finest Partner leaders in India. Both Bengali, he and his wife, Nibedita, have two children: daughter, Sushana, and son, Samuel. While working in the state of Orissa he became aware of the fact that the percentage of Christians in India is 5%, but in West Bengal the percentage is only 0.05%. As a result, Sukadeb developed a strong burden to see his own people reached with the Gospel. He is called to church planting and evangelism among the Bengali people.
The goal of Sukadeb's ministry is to reach the Bengali people through church planting. Their strategy is a combination of evangelism, and social programs. In addition to planting churches, Sukadeb is training lay leaders and pastors to lead the house churches. Their goal for the next four years is to evangelize 2,000 unreached villages and start 300 house churches.
