The great challenge for the church in the 21st Century is getting the Gospel to the unreached people groups of our world. Today, the number of unreached people groups is more than 6,000 and there are 3,400 languages in which there is no portion of Scripture translated. This challenge must be met if we are going to finish the task that Jesus gave "to make disciples of all peoples."
The challenge is further compounded by the fact that 71% of the people in the unreached world do not read. If they had the Scriptures translated and in printed form, they would need an audible form of communication to receive the Gospel. Most of the cultures of the unreached groups are oral and have been for centuries.
EPIC is committed to making this happen. We are partnering with Faith Comes by Hearing in order to provide the Bible in audio to the unreached people of the world.
We are engaged in key partnerships with other ministries to translate and record the Bible...and put it in a digitized form that would be cultural appropriate and make it available without cost to the recipients.
The BibleStick® is one of those projects and you can be involved in getting the Word of God to unreached peoples with it. The BibleStick® is a dedicated, digital Audio Bible player that runs on one AAA battery and is approximately the size of a pack of chewing gum. An embedded chip holds the entire New Testament, which cannot be deleted.
For $30.00, a BibleStick® can be produced, shipped, and in most cases, personally distributed by believers to people who have never heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The recordings are dramatized with sound effects and music. This simply serves to magnify the presentation of God's Word. In some cases, EPIC sponsored church planters are using the BibleStick® today in their evangelism and discipleship programs. There is a need for thousands of the BibleSticks®.
